The Darth Hater SWTOR fan site was at PAX 2010 and managed to write down the skill list for many of the playable classes in the current closed beta. While this doesn’t include Advanced Abilities, it’s still a good overview of General Abilities for the Bounty Hunter, Imperial Agent, Sith Warrior, Sith Inquisitor, Trooper and Smuggler. PAX 2010: Massively goes hands-on with Rift: Planes of Telara
Trion was at PAX 2010 this weekend showing off the latest build of their upcoming cyberpunk fantasy MMORPG, Rift: Planes of Telara. Massively was there to run the demo through its paces and came back with a report on character creation, dungeon running and class specialization. It’s a good first look at the title for those unfamiliar with it. Video below explains class system and how you can combine different styles of play.
PAX 2010: SWTOR interview delves into Advanced Classes
The Ask A Jedi SWTOR fansite was on hand at PAX 2010 and recorded an interview with the MMORPG’s Senior Producer Blaine Christine and Daniel Erickson. You can read the transcript or listen to the embedded audio on their site. They cover a number of topics including how Advanced Classes change the role of the character, the role of companions and the controversy behind the Jedi Wizard announcement. They also touch on the creation of lightsabers and how that tradition within the Jedi order has evolved.

The FFXIV Core site was able to get a few questions in front of the Square Enix devs at PAX 2010 this weekend. Most of the short interview covers plans for the player site, finding friends from FFXI and why there are no official forums.
PAX 2010: SWTOR panel video on lightsaber creation and more
The Darth Hater fan site captured video of the entire SWTOR panel at this weekend’s PAX 2010 gamer conference. This includes many things we’ve seen so far, but particularly interesting is the video lightsaber creation. It also covers why space combat is a “rail shooter”, why Han Solo started as Dark Side Smuggler and how the Force powers being divided into Light Side and Dark Side categories. PAX 2010: EVE announces contest and releases new video
At PAX 2010, CCP pushed their space MMO EVE Online into the spotlight with two stunts. One is a well-made video entitled “Casuality” selling the strengths of the game. You can view it after the jump. Two is a new contest, the EVE Online Universal Glory Sweepstakes, that you don’t have to be a subscriber to enter. Prizes include a new rig and other hardware. Deadline is October 3, 2010.
PAX 2010: Bioware releases new SWTOR video
At PAX 2010 this week, Bioware has released a new video entitled “Mysteries of the Knights of the Old Republic.” It shows five players on a mission to follow the footsteps of Darth Revan. Revan was both Jedi and Sith and his fate is unknown when he disappeared investigating deep evil on a distant planet. The video shows off the mission system as well as group combat and can be seen after the jump.
PAX 2010: DDO announces Half-Elf and Half-Orc playable races
Massively sat down with the Turbine crew at PAX 2010 and came back with this report about the upcoming Dungeons and Dragons Online Update 7 coming in October. The update will include two new playable races (Half-Elf and Half-Orc), a new raid for the under level 10 crowd, a search function for the auction house and more.
PAX 2010: Hands-on with Guild Wars 2
Massively’s Guild Wars 2 columnist Rubi Bayer is in Seattle at PAX 2010 and took the opportunity to get a hands-on demo of the upcoming ArenaNet title. Her writeup includes screenshots, video and her impressions. Guild Wars 2 is schedule to release in 2011.
PAX 2010: CCP leaks details of unannounced EVE expansion
Massively caught up with CCP Lead Game Designer Noah Ward at PAX 2010. He shared with them key features of the unnamed EVE expansion, coming this winter. He talked about improving player interaction with colonies, a new NPC invasion called incursions requiring players to band together for PVE, upgrades to the in-game social tool, EVE Gate, and an upgraded character creation system.
